Chinese Humanoid Robot Runs 100 Metres Faster Than Usain Bolt's Record
One of today's biggest viral technology stories is coming from China's World Humanoid Robot Games.
A humanoid robot called Tiangong Ultra reportedly completed 100 metres in 9.39 seconds, faster than Usain Bolt's men's world record of 9.58 seconds. The robot is developed by the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center.
This is an incredible demonstration of robotic movement, although it is important to note that a robot's 100-metre time is not directly comparable to a human world record because the machines operate under completely different mechanical constraints and competition rules.
Still, the development demonstrates how quickly humanoid robotics is progressing.
